What Friends Do...

The Gridley Friends of the Library is an association of community members interested in books and libraries and is open to all who share that interest.  We support and supplement library services by:

Fundraising - Our primary sources include annual membership fees, lobby books sales, and our quarterly book sales, held the first weekend of each quarter.

Purchasing books, magazines, and newspaper subscriptions; CD's and DVD's; and computer hardware, software, and internet service.

Supporting programs for children and young adults held at the Gridley Branch Library.

Volunteering to shelve books, check material in & out at the front desk, and conducting the quarterly book sale.

Publishing our quarterly newsletter, Under the Oak Tree.

Participating in local and countywide events that focus public attention on library services, facilities, and needs of the Butte County Library system and the Gridley branch.

Providing information for those who are interested in Planned Giving via wills, annuities, and trusts as a way to ensure continuing library services for generations to come.

Annually honoring library volunteers, members, and community supporters of the library.

You can help continue and expand these efforts by becoming a Friends member and an advocate for the Gridley Library.

The Friends Board meets the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 pm in the Nora Wiley Conference room at the library.
